4.7-inch iPhone 6 renderings allegedly straight from Apple’s supplier Foxconn

iPhone 6 Renderings - Foxconn

Chinese site Feng (via GforGames) has just published new renderings which it claims are of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 that have been sourced from Foxconn, Apple’s largest manufacturing partner in China.

The renderings appear to be quite similar to the iPhone 6 renderings published in Japanese magazine MacFan last month. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 measures 138.14 x 66.97 mm in the rendering, which is also in line with the measurement of the mockup done by AppleCorner last week.

The alleged iPhone 6 renderings reveal the ultra-thin design with rounded edges as opposed to the iPhone 5s’ chamfered edges. It has the power button on the top right hand side of the device, which is in line with rumors that have indicated Apple will be changing the position of the button for easier one-handed access on the larger iPhone.

The volume controls on the left are rectangular. The renderings also suggest the iPhone 6 will sport a three-stage aluminum design on the back of the iPhone 6 with two antenna breaks cut out at the back of the device. Rumors have indicated iPhone 6 may sport an all-aluminum back casing instead of using glass breaks currently found on iPhone 5s.

Apple is widely expected to release two variants of the iPhone 6 this year, with a thinner design, smaller bezels, rounded edges and more. The first variant will have a 4.7 inch display, which could be launched as early as August, followed by the larger 5.5-inch model in September.

iPhone 6 is also expected to include Apple’s new A8 processor, Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and an improved 8-megapixel camera. The iPhone 6 will also come pre-installed with iOS 8, which may include new apps such as Healthbook, TextEdit and Preview, improved Maps, inter-app communication capabilities and more.

While it is difficult to confirm the authencity of these renderings, all the leaks so far seem to indicate the iPhone 6 will sport an all-new design. Let me know what you think in the comments. If you want to figure out how the larger iPhones will feel in the hand, then you can now print 4.7-inch or 5.5-inch iPhone 6 physical mockups yourself with a 3D printer.
