iPhone 4S Already Second Most Popular Cameraphone On Flickr

iPhone 4S Already Second Most Popular Cameraphone On Flickr

It has been just over a month since Apple introduced iPhone 4S and it has already the second most popular cameraphone on Flickr, the popular image sharing site.

The fact that Apple's new iPhone 4S sports an all-new 8-megapixel camera and Apple has been selling them like hot cakes since it was launched seems to have helped it grab the #2 position.

Back in June, iPhone 4 had become the most popular camera on Flickr. According to Flickr's Camera Finder page, which shows graphs of the popularity of both smartphones and point and shoot cameras, iPhone 4 is still the most popular camera on Flickr, but iPhone 4S has beaten iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and HTC EVO 4G.
As we've mentioned before, there are number of reasons why iPhone is so popular among Flickr users compared to other cameras:
  • It is very easy to upload photos using Flickr’s iPhone app or other third party iPhone apps compared to a digital camera.
  • You are more likely to have an iPhone with you to capture a moment than a digital camera. The breathtaking photo and video of space shuttle Endeavour rocketing to space captured from an airplane using an iPhone 4 is a a good example of what we mean.
  • Apps like Instagram that allow users to take photos, add filters to make them look better or funny and share them with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr etc. are very popular with iPhone users.
What do you think? Are you surprised? Has iPhone replaced your digital camera? Please share your views in the comments below.
