A SearchEngineLand user has spotted Google testing a new “Quick View” button in search results on mobile devices like the iPhone.
Search Engine Land reports that when a user clicks on the
“Quick View” button as seen in the screenshot above, the feature loads a
lighter-version of the the web page rather than the full web page for
better web browsing experience.
It’s not clear if the feature loads the mobile website (which should
be automatically handled by the website) or it loads a stripped down
version of the web page minus the images, formatting and
advertisement. You can click on the “View Original” button to load the
full web page.
The “Quick View” button looks out of place on the search results
page, so it will be interesting to see if Google will roll it out to all
users.
